This Standard Receiving Requirement Policy ("Policy") is incorporated into the Handled Terms of Service as published on Handled’s website ("Terms"). In the event of any conflict or inconsistency between this Policy and the Terms, the Terms shall govern. All capitalized terms not otherwise defined in this Policy will have the meanings assigned to them in the Terms. Receipts that do not follow the Standard Receiving Requirements and require corrective measures to be performed by Handled will be subject to Non-Standard Receiving fees.
Receiving Requirements
Shipping Labels & ASN# Requirements

- Each shipping label associated with a receiving must include a properly formatted shipping address and a unique identifier assigned to inbound inventory shipments, which must be submitted through Handled’s Warehouse Management System (WMS) before inventory is shipped to Handled. (“Advanced Shipping Notification Number” or “ASN#”).
- Each individual parcel, pallet, and container ("piece") must be legibly and durably labeled with the shipping address and ASN#.
- Each tracking number must reference only one ASN# (though an ASN# may have multiple tracking numbers).
- Customers must submit the ASN# directly into the Handled system through the Warehouse Management System (WMS) prior to shipment.
ASN# Age & Quantity Matching

- All ASN#s must be less than three weeks (15 business days) old.
- The actual quantities arriving at the warehouse must match the reported quantities in the ASN#.
- The received product dimensions and weights must match those reported in the Handled account.
Scheduling & Delivery

- If you send eight (8) or more pallets to Handled under one ASN#, you must schedule a delivery window before the inventory arrives at the warehouse.
Packaging & Labeling Compliance

- Inventory must be properly packaged with appropriate labels.
- Each individual item must have readable Code 128 barcode labels corresponding to the Inventory ID (SKU) in your Handled account.
- A standard receiving involves inventory that is correctly labeled, palletized, and marked before arrival at the warehouse.
- All shipments must comply with applicable local, state, and federal laws, including those governing packaging, marking, and labeling.
- You must comply with all labeling guidelines before sending inventory to Handled.
Inventory Condition & Organization

- Inventory must be cleanly organized, boxed, and/or stacked upon arrival.
Importer of Record & Customs Compliance
Duties, Fees, & Customs Responsibilities

- Handled cannot act as the Importer of Record for your merchandise.
- Handled is not liable for any duties, customs fees, or other charges related to the inventory.
- Shipments must be free and clear of all duties and fees before arriving at Handled.
- You must be the ultimate consignee and take full responsibility for customs clearance, inspections, and regulatory compliance.
- You must have all requisite tax IDs and business registrations as required by local customs authorities at the destination warehouse.
Customs Fees & Holds

- Handled reserves the right to refuse any shipment that arrives with unpaid customs duties, fees, or other charges.
- If merchandise arrives at Handled with unpaid customs duties, fees, or related charges, these fees will be billed to your account along with a processing fee.
- Inventory may be held from outbound shipment until all applicable fees are paid.
- If additional duties or fees are assessed at a later date, penalties and holds may be applied retroactively and immediately.
Palletized Inventory Requirements
Weight & Size Restrictions

- Inbound parcels (carton/master pack) exceeding 70 lbs or with a combined length and girth greater than 120 inches must be delivered on a pallet.
- Pallet weight must not exceed 2,000 lbs.
- Pallets must not exceed 55 inches in height.
- The skid or base will be included in the total weight and must be provided by you. Additional charges may apply if Handled provides a pallet or skid.
- Handled reserves the right to refuse shipment on non-compliant receipts or to re-configure non-compliant pallets. Additional charges may apply if you send Handled non-compliant pallets.
